If a mechanical DOD removal did you triple check your grounds? Don't know car or job type, but I'd check the primary ecu ground wire is "clean and tight" also right bolt as some metals are better then others at grounding. The number 1 advice I was given chasing similar issue after dod/vvt/cam job. Have had other broken stuff too but ground proved the most obnoxious. Without good ecu comms troubleshooting was next to hopeless.
