i doubt anything is 'off' you need to go into the pid's and select the generic one cuz mopar adds a bunch of voltage the the narrow band lol

same deal with my 2016 392 lx

thats fine... you just have to find the ones that read 0-1

will look at more when i get home tonight : )

that Cam is 220/230 @ .050 , it's a TQ killer, RFE545/65 trans and 4x4 , not sure who recommended that cam, but they are not your customer's friend.
It'll feel like a pig , that cam is taking roughly 40-50FT of Tq away from the under2500RPM area, not to mention, unless it's got a 2500 or better stall speed the convertor is going to chew up some TQ.

any cam is gonna be a turd below 2500 rpm WHEN IT IS TWENTY DEGREES RETARDED lol

he needs to figure out where it is fer shur

and what he has to work with phaser wise

the short con rods will help with low rpm

*ps - nothing like a high stall converter in a 4x4 that has a bunch of camshaft... get that thing out in the sand or soft dirt and try to pull someone out. start rolling into it. it feels like it doesnt want to go. keep rolling into throttle...nothing. the r's just keep slowly increasing. keep rolling into it and when the tack hits the stall WHAAAA. Instantly sink to the axles rofl. been there done that

FWIW , here's a copy of the tune that was in my 14 RCSB4x2 with the HRT 2 Cam, Truck went Best of 10.89,(3859race weight with my 118lbs a$$) 5.7 stock bottom end ,Eagle heads burr finished, 1.625 Exhaust but other wise stock , Edelbrock Victor intake , 87 TB , HRT2 cam ,Custom headers (1 7/8 x 36in primary,3in collect) 3in ex out the back , and those god awful Walker turbo mufflers, T56 trans and some serious rear gear 4.88, then upped to 5.13(too much for this cam) std Sniper had a better MPH but lost it in the 60-330ft to the Eddy, tried the 5.13s but they didn't help, Apache heads and Race sniper picked up another 25HP, didn't show it in ET, but MPH picked up. then Tone wheel filled a PFA against me and the 7400 RPM trap speed, made a mess , really understand the need for engine diaper.

The HRT2 Cam it'll be soft up to 3k, then pull like it's 100CI bigger, then the OEM intake will choke it as soon as you get to high5k,
See if HPtuners can add the SRV tables
Need a 2500+ stall convertor, if not , a good steady idle will be hard to achieve, you can get a serious "chop" but it'll surge once or twice a trip.....Honestly it annoyed the crap out of me, but best ET of the off the shelf cams I ran in this truck before the engine swap.

when you start getting in to the trans side of it, and you'll need to , User JimP is the guy to talk to, he post a lot in the transmission section, his services are worth what'll he'll charge.

good thing about this cam is once it's working , it'll make as much 500/525hp,we got close to 580flywheel, with not much extra work, but sill not bad for sub 350Ci ,sub .600 lift .

bad thing is once you get it figured out, it'll tear that rfe545/65 trans up,

Rear Gear, this truck you're working on is gong to need 4.56 gears, that thing at it's lightest is going still be over4900lbs(while still being 4x4).

So I had the owner pick up the truck and fix the cam timing. Will update when it gets back

you did not know where the cam was

now you are gonna have someone that does not understand any of this take the truck and bring it back later?

at a point in time when you still wont know where the cam is...

or if it is locked or has been limited or how much valve to piston there is or

    cam is not that big

i would put a stock phaser in it, make sure everything is where it is supposed to be, pull all the pushrods, put a couple checker springs on #1 in and ex, see how much clearance i have at full adv, and go from there

vvt is bad ass - too many lock it out for no reason : )

Cam was out of time, customer is dropping it off this week

The truck runs much better with the cam installed correctly. I enabled the VVT and took it out for a drive but the cam doesn't seem to move. Could someone take a look at the tune and see if I'm missing something? It has the comp cams limiiters installed.

this is what i was getting at when i said if you wanna know what is in it or where it is at (centerline) you need to do it yourself

looks like there is a lock out in the phaser, not a limiter

and the cam looks to be advanced more than 10 degrees

Cam is Locked at 128* which is full advance for a 5.7, or start point for the 5.7s it's not limited , its locked No movement.

You'll need to log Aircharge to be able to do any tuning.

I just noticed that I wasn't logging aircharge. I was just looking at the spark table and saw one axis is aircharge. Then looking at the VE tables one axis is in ratio. Is ratio the absolute pressure ratio (which in kPa is the MAP sensor reading)?

Aircharge is what you want to log, pratio uses map(kPa) in its equation, but all your spark tables use aircharge, if this was an older truck03-08 map would be what you want.

There is a channel for logging pratio, which you’ll need for VE tuning

if cam is ground with 115 deg of lobe separation and installed at 128 you are giving up power in the upper rpm's

I'll look for each when I connect back to the truck, Thank you

I talked with the owner last night and the phaser is definitely installed. I'll check and see if I have an OCV CEL when I get back to the truck.

    here's the complete cam specs

Ok I have used SprayCam's VVT SD tune with some mods. I haven't played with the dodge 5.7 much but it doesn't seem correct that I'm getting 4 degrees of knock retard with 14.6 degrees of timing at 3389 RPM/WOT/.7278 aircharge (time index 03:46:24). It's also pulling 3 degrees at 3650 RPM/61kPa/.4029 aircharge (time index 3:47:23) with 23 degrees of timing. LS and Coyote's like about 25 degrees total timing at WOT (above 4000 RPM), SBC like up to 42 depending on the head. The motor has the VVT enabled but the log isn't showing a desired angle or cam error. Does the hemi need really that little of spark advance?

I'm sure Purple ram will look at it shortly,

Keep in Mind G3 hemi(s) 5.7 Pre Eagle don't like anything more than 24* and the Eagle headed 5.7s(which is what your working on), 20-22* is where they make their best power

, your Knock sensors are Too sensitive.

Log Accelerator pedal Voltage and Throttle Voltage, remember the ECU does everything by Volts, the % PIDs help with Pedal % request, but other than that it's along for the ride.

I read about the volts earlier today and logged the pedal voltage and the throttle voltage. I added .300 volts to the knock sensors today and logged the sensor voltages directly. How much should I raise their values? Looking at the sensor voltages I do see a few knock events and not just mechanical noise.

    A few things I don't understand are:
    Log SD6a
The Power enrichment should be my base FA stoich plus the PE (.0710 + .0110= .0820 FA, 12.2 AFR, .866 Lambda). Which it is until 4000 RPM when the lambda drops to .766 and the FA enrichment goes from .0110 to .0204. Why would it do that? See pic 1

Next the aircharge goes from .8148 at 4769 RPM to .8551 at 4799 RPM. That's .0303 difference in 30 RPM. The previous and post 30 RPM segments average .0021 difference. So why the big step? See pic 1

    in log SD6b

Time stamp 3:56:22 there is a big spike in the Knock sensor voltage which I read as an actual knock event. And all the way through the log the OCV exhaust DC is 0. the Ex cam position error is 0 and the Ex cam centerline stays at 128 degrees even though the VVT is enabled. Why would the ECU not command the cam to move? The "clean OCV" is also enabled so it should throw a code for not initially cycling the cam right?

what type of mods did you have to do to add the wide band sensors to your 2011 NGC4A controller?????

and why do you think it is pulling 12 degrees of timing outta it when ya stab it???
