E67 ECM and T43 TCM OS compatibility

    Hey Everyone,

    The pieces of the puzzle:
    E67 ECM Service# 12678513 from a 2012 CTSV auto
    6l80e from a 2017 Silverado

I am working on getting my swap up and running and wanted to verify my OS compatibility. I am running an E67 ECM with OS 12653238 and a TCM with OS 24276638. I have seen some posts stating the 2017+ 6L80's require an E92A ECM?

I definitely bit off more than I could chew with this endeavor and would appreciate any insight.

I would check the hardware number on the TCM, and if it's compatible, just use the known-matching 2012 CTS-V trans OS.

Is the hardware number anywhere software wise, or do I need to drop the pan and valve body to check?

If I do end up needing to use the matching CTS-V OS, with that affect my current license?

    Thanks, Squirrel.

Do you know the VINs for the two donor vehicles?

This is not definitive, but rather an indicator that it's worth investigating the hardware properly. Running the truck VIN (on a site with the complete GM database, not a quickie like rockauto) would be a good start, and if there's only one number and no ambiguity, I'd probably say it's safe to just try flashing it.

I don't have the trucks VIN unfortunately.

Does the T43 brick like an ECM if an unsupported OS is written to it?

Drop the pan. Or I'm fairly sure a Tech2/MDI can read that kind of module information. HP Tuners wasn't really ever meant to be a replacement for a basic manufacturer-supported scan tool.

I've over written T43's a bunch of times with no issues. Thats not saying there might be one one day.. but whatever you do seems reversible.
