New TCM OS require new license?

I have a 2012 CTSV e67 and a 2017 silverado t43 that are licensed together. If I have the t43 flashed with an earlier OS, will that require a new license?

    No.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

As a continuation question: What is the process for changing the T43 OS? I think the correct order is:

Download a factory A6 tune from the repository
Change the VIN to match my licensed one
    Write entire to the T43
Download from vehicle the new ECM and TCM files
    Copy over my desired changes
    Write configurations only
    Done!?

You should NOT be licensing or flashing files from the repository to your vehicle. You do so at your own risk and against our advice.

Repository files are good for finding VINs that can then be fed into SPS for flashing with the proper tools.
Nobody wants to hear your straight-piped V6 Camaro/Mustang/Challenger/350Z. You are not in a movie, you are not 'DK'. Everyone hates you.

Is this because the files on the repository aren't vetted, or some other underlying reason?

Vetted? Tunes in the repository are uploaded by customers, you take them with a grain of salt and they should only be used for comparison, nothing more, nothing less.

Bill, does "write entire" on a T43 write the base OS? The local dealership wants $200 to flash my T43 so I would like to try it on my own beforehand if that is something HP Tuners can do.

I know that I am asking you for help going against your advice, but for $200 I could buy a TCM with the right configuration if the one I have goes belly up.

Thanks for your answers thus far.

You do so at your own risk.

We would recommend having your ecm/tcm flashed to the vin/os pairing you want via tech 2 or similar OEM style device. Then simply read, license & tune away using our product.
