    Charge Temperature/ Timing???

I've read that, on the Ecoboost Mustang, your engine timing is pulled as a result of high charge temperature. I know that there are 3 temperature sensors, ambient, intake and manifold. Does the ECU use all temperature sensors? And what about other data? What all affects timing?

    IAT is #44587 and 44588
    ECT is #44589 and 44590

In HP it says IAT/MCT for 44587, though when you open the table it says IAT, I'm not sure if the ECU will use whichever has the higher temp.

What got me thinking is that I'm adding an auxiliary innerchiller, located between my inner cooler and thottle body (with an ice box).
This should lower my manifold temperature, but not the ambient or intake temperatures or anything else that may affect the timing.
I've reviewed my data logs from the past couple of years and noticed that the timing at idle can be around positive 20 and down to around zero upon wide open thottle.
It just seems like with all the information the ECU collects, more than the charge temperature should affect timing.
