EGR Enable not visible P59 ECU

Wait. 2005's had an EGR? I thought they were done away in 01?

The EGR code is still in the PCM. I have it Enabled in my 2005 P59 running a L31 350 based engine for the same reason to log data using the 0-5V input. In my case it is fuel pressure I am logging. The factory 2005 350 setup had it disabled and factory EGR block off plates/caps on the intake manifold and exhaust manifold. Some of the 4.3Ls running on P59s had EGR until much later, probably CA spec. Express vans had EGR with the P59 through 2003 on the 2500 and 3500s with 4.8s and 6.0s too.

aaron, why is this the way it is? Is it as simple as having an old version of the HPT sofware? Did they remove the option due to regulations?

Yes. Exactly as you stated. That's why I run the older software.

For the newer vehicles that need internet connection to "phone home" to even open tune files, the older versions are already getting blocked, forcing you to update to one of the last few stable major versions. It seems that so far, these older PCMs are safe from all of that, but who knows what the future will bring.

Can anyone help me out and enable the EGR tab on my tune and scanner i haver version 5.0.4. I did the training but still dont see the enable disable. i have a LQ4 6.0 with BTR stage 2 NSR cam

You're not going to see it. HP Tuners stance is they cannot allow any emissions tampering and will tell you to "get a prolink" or use external inputs. You might get lucky and find someone that has an old version that can still do this, but it appears that as time goes on, this will be a "thing of the past". Good luck! (I have 5.0 and can't turn it on, had HP tuners since 2006).

I made the mistake using the computer to look up tuning info and it must have updated and made me update my hp tuners to 5.0.4. Now I can't re-enable the egr on his tune to use his afr for wideband tuning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any chance I can get EGR enabled in this tune file? I tried loading an older version of vcm to enable it, but I'm using an MPVI3 which isn't compatible with the older software. Thanks

Here is my tune file.

Need EGR enable for 30-0300 wideband.

The wideband works but I have zero voltage in my hp tuner scanner.

Edit: I assume that the change was more than the EGR engage and disengage speeds? Would like to understand the change that I apparently could not do.
