Thread: Gen 4 BTR stage 2 rolling high idle

Question Gen 4 BTR stage 2 rolling high idle

I have a 2007 Tahoe 5.3 Gen 4 with a btr stage 2 cam, everything else is stock including the torque converter. I had written up a base tune for and I slowly adjusted it to were I like it startup is great, idle in every temperature is awsome, shifts great, has plenty of power but as soon as you start moving to 3 mph and up it goes from 21% throttle to 33% throttle without touching the pedal and speeds up to 30-35mph having to constantly utilize the brakes going through town. Ive attempted to counteract this problem by adjusting the Air Flow Final Minimum table and The Minimum Setpoint VSS table to the point were they are well below what they are stock. On a gen 3 application you can easily adjust this stuff via throttle cracker but gen 4 doesnt have this application. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking at your base running airflow table, you have a bad vacuum leak. If you have to REDUCE that table after adding a cam, you have unmetered air coming in. No way around it. Especially if it wants to take off on you. Fix you vacuum leak and it won't idle on that table.
