So, I have this clients Nissan Titan XD 5.0L Cummins. I tryed reading with HPT but it failed even before start reading.
Now truck does not start, I have no communicatio with ecm/ecu.
Any ideas on what is going on? What can I do? Can it be stuck on programing mode?

Did you every find a solution to this. We just had this happen the other day. Literally same exact thing. Never even got to erase or write. It just failed to authenticate a connection. And now no start.
A simple solution to this issue would be to use a J2534 Pass Through device to flash a OEM calibration to the vehicle the try to read the vehicle once again. Make sure you have adequate battery level or a proper battery charger connected to the vehicle not a battery tender but a normal shop charger for batteries digital or analog. A lot of times reads have issues due to people not disconnecting accessories connected to the vehicle or tuners leaving light and other interior systems on while trying to complete a read. Hope this helps other in the future.

Just had this exact issue occur to me. Didn't even start a read and has bricked the ECM... Googling it seems as though this has happened to a number of people. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Not sure how to go about flashing in a standard calibration with a generic J2534 as I don't have a standard file on hand.
If you didn?t have the Nissan security cable plugged in and tried HP tuners it bricked the ecm I did that 2 times on my personal truck however hp will not help or give you any explanation.
