    2006 8.1L - Bricked - Bench programming?

    Hello Everyone!

I?ve got a 2006 GMC Kodiak. It has an 8.1 L gas engine in it.

I recently tried to flash the PCM to adjust the idle as this is a work truck for us and in doing so the write procedures failed and now my PCM is not recognized and apparently it is ?Bricked?.

I?ve seen lots of references on unlocking the PCM to force it to be tuned on the bench, does anybody have a write up on this or pictures and a video with some in-depth explanation so I can try to save my trucks PCM?

Or if you?re close to savannah GA and think you can help, I am open to options. Beer and food provided!

    TIA!

That should be a P59. Try flashing it again. This time when you have the flash window open, you'll see a box with a check in it that says "use high speed" next to it. Uncheck that box. Then try flashing it.

    See the attached screen shot.
