New to this, VE table help

    Hello,

I added headers to my 17 ZL1 and wanted to dabble a little. I purchased "The Tuner School" and looked at YT videos but when I take the data from either the VE Vs LFT or VE vs EQerr and paste them into the VVE table, I smooth them then click calculate coefficients and I get a crazy stupid map with a bunch of -11,000 numbers in certain cells. What am I missing?

    Thanks!

First off I hate to say this but throw the tuning school's book into a dresser or something then come to peace with the money wasted or send it back if they allow that now Sure it's got "some" things in it, but for the most part unless something has really changed since it's original creation, well it's just junk for the gen V's... After that you really need to look into Cringers dynamic airflow fuel correction equations and his VVE tool and then go from there (what is dynamic airflow in the 4th gen section towards the end has the updated calcs and filters). Keep in mind a lot of things control the fueling on gen V's all the way down to the torque models. Once the MAF and VE are close you really need to do fine tuning for different temperatures on the density table. Also if it's just headers then you really need to tune in the O2's. Could even leave the VE alone and just do the MAF. You would have a slightly richer biasing on the VE side due to the boost loss, but that's up to you.

Agreed 100%. The Tuning School should be in jail for the absolute trash they put out for the Gen V.

Don't bother with VVE or VT with headers. It's just a waste of time. Optimize timing and fuel and enjoy the car that drives like stock with more power and louder sound.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been trying to adjust the MAF but now over 4000 RPM it goes straight to 8.7 AFR command. I cannot get the AFR Err to populate any data. According to my book, which you all suggest that I throw away, I should disable COT and make some pulls and copy the AFR Err and paste the % into the Airflow vs Frequency table. I even uploaded the prvious tune that worked before the header install and still see the AFr command just drop.

Post the log and current tune file. Make sure you have cot disabled.
