    2005 GTO LS2 with 13 or 15 pin 4l60e? (E40 + T42)

I am currently piecing together an LS2 GTO swap. Car came with manual T56 originally.

Now we are going with a auto. I have a good 4l60e 13 pin.

I have the stock E40 ECM from the 2005 GTO with a manual OS, I will segment swap this to a 2005 auto OS.
    Also managed to source a T42 from a 2005 LS2 GTO auto.

However, do the GTO use a 13 pin 4l60e or a 15 pin? When I look at the stock tune all the ISS related stuff is disabled.

Can anyone shed some light into the topic before I order the auto harness.

You need to ask the guy that is sending you the harness what the plug configuration is.
I don't believe that you can segment swap that and make it work. I sent my computer off to PCMofNC and they did the update to auto OS. ALVIN on here is a good source to ask.

PSI only sells 15 pin harnesses. With that said 15 pin vs 13 pin is the same. Except two MORE wires for the ISS (that wont be utilized) if you run the 13 pin version.

I will ask ALVIN and see if he can chime in.

You can't segment swap these and you also can't write entire. We can reflash with GM software SPS. It's not a normal service so you'll need to email us at [email protected] for a quote/shipping etc.

    Thanks!

Is this something that is unique for the E40 platform?

You need the complete automatic OS to be added to the E40 manual pcm that you have. Cannot be done with a segment swap or a write entire. I can't say if it is unique to the E40, but it is required when you are switching from manual to auto using a manual pcm. You could find an auto pcm and tcm out of another car and use that. It must be year specific.

I thought I could segment swap, or write entire on this bit?

I well aware that HPT doesnt write the ETC segments. But those are identical, given the same PCM, same year, etc.

I did the swap years ago on a 2005 GTO---segment swap doesn't work.

Look on LS1GTO forum. There should be more info on there.

    Fair enough!

Ill just drop the E40 and go 411 instead as I quite far away from the US.

The 411 isn't going to talk to the BCM

Off course! Theres no BCM in this swap. Just the driveline from a GTO in a Camaro -69. That now want to be auto, instead of manual.

If you are doing a stand alone harness, then that should work. On the engine side, the knock sensors on the LS2 are on the sides of the block and have different plugs. Alternator is different, fuel injectors have different plugs---I'm sure there are a few more. You have a project going there, post a pic when you can.
