getting a error message that says not authorized when im trying to read it through obd.

its an old 2007 cls 500.
m273.960 engine.
interface is a MPVI3
Editor is 5.1.122
Hmmm, yeah on an older one like that you don’t even need MPVI3 so that should definitely be working. Probably have to start a support ticket with HP Tuners and see what they say.

Found the problem.
these early m273 me9.7 are write only.
they have a tprot block.
i got my hands on a me9.7 from m156 6.2l amg engine, and this one i can read with my hpt.
i cracked both open and read/write over the entire content from the m273 to the m156 ecu with my ktag, and the problem followed with the reflash.
if anyone knows where the tprot code is stored and wants to share that info i would be really happy.
im not skilled enough in Winols to find that kind of stuff.
