    6L80 TCM swap

    Hi,

I am about to get a 2008 hummer H2 sut.

The truck needs a new TCM as it has several faults related to fluid pressure and shift solenoid.

My question is, is it as simple as writing the entire file from the old TCM to the new blank one?

Or is it possible to do so via hptuners.

I've read someplace that it's done by MD12 clone and some people posted on other forums that it can be done by hptuners (Write Entire).

    Thanks,

TCM can be properly, fully flashed with HP Tuners (as long as it is not a brand new TCM with no code in it at all, it needs some base-level stuff or a previous calibration written to it before HPT will recognize it). So a 'reman' TCM will be fine, a 'new' TCM can be hit or miss.

The (GM Gen4 and up) ECM cannot be properly, fully flashed with HPT. It does not write all of the ECM segments.

    Update:

Brand new TCM (AC delco) not refurbished.

I pulled the file out of the old TCM.
Write entire into the new TCM.

Wallaaa, everything works and shifts properly.
