Hey guys, I have a really quick question.
My daughter's 2019 GMC Canyon with the 8L45 transmission recently had trans failure. I found an 8L45 out of a 2021 GMC Canyon I can get. My question to you folks is, is the transmission interchangeable since the TCM is external?
Please excuse my inexperience with the 8l45 as I am mostly familiar with the V8 GM transmission interchangeability.

Too many options, not enough info. That site is where I would start though by looking at which other years were listed in the results.

If the truck is 2WD, it has the M5N variant .. which is used in 2WD trucks and many cars and SUVs. If it's a 4WD truck, it uses the M5T variant.
