Detect Protocol Failed using MPVI3 on Golf 7 GTI

Hi, I am trying to connect a brand new MPVI3 to a Golf 7 GTI and when i try to read file a Detect Protocol Failed pops up.
Tried both scanner and editor and both same issue.
Connecting my Launch Diagnostic scanner and using data stream work fine on car. Any help or ideas much appreciated, thanks.

Mine had an OBDII extender harness for gps tracker. Make sure your plugged into car obd not an extender. Removed my aftermarket harness and it works perfect

Ensure your MPVI3 is securely connected to both the vehicle's OBD port and your computer via USB. Try a different USB port if possible.
