Reading vehicle taking forever

Been having electrical issues on my swapped car, at first it wasnt reading at all "detect protocol failed" now it just says status and the progress bar has no green bar, its been like that maybe 20 minutes, i know exiting out may brick your ecm but is that the only solution or does it just take abnormally long

Reading the ECM is usually a 1 to 2 minute job.

Depends on the ECM. LNF Ecotec E69 takes about 12-15 minutes. But it shows an accurate countdown timer of time remaining. If yours doesn't show the timer counting down then you likely have a problem.
