L86 Hard to start after Stage 2 cam install

hey guys I have a fresh L86 rebuild with tsp stage 2 cam, JBA shorty headers, GPI drop in pistons, ARP main studs , ARP head bolts, new Gm performance 3.622 crank im needing someone to please check over tune and log file and please tell me what i may be missing. Engine is hard to start, I'm in need of a fresh set of eyes to check out the log\tune file and point me in the right direction.

    Post the unmodified tune file.

Virtual torque isn't right. Idle timing is steady at -10 degrees +/-. Airflow tables are pretty far off. Trims are steady -20% +/- and after a period of time they just turn off. Between the two, that's your start up issue. It probably needs more work than that but that's the quick and dirty.

That's great but doesn't change anything I said. I can tell more what's wrong from the log than a tune file comparison.

And you're logging a bunch of pids that don't matter. Need to thin them out.

Most likely your start and die is cat lightoff. You can work around it later, but for now you need to do like Ed said and put your torque models back to stock and then start tuning in your VE and MAF tables. It doesn't work when you blanket cut the models like that as you've already seen. You'll have them so far out of whack from one another that you'll fight it till the end of time. Once you get fuel right, it'll make a world of difference. For every 1% fuel adjustment it directly equals a 1% adjustment to the torque models. So dial in fuel, then the torque models, then fuel again for a fine cleanup. Also only ever log for fuel adjustments with coolant at temp and injector tip temp higher than 60 celcius. Those are for all base adjustments. You'll have to dial in other stuff later for colder temp fuel adjustments. Gen V's aren't cut and dry and done in a day type of tunes if they're right. Start on fuel first and go from there like Ed said.

Most of the time, when I'm getting 1 log a day, I'll spend 2 months on one and that's just your base run of the mill gas tune. I fine tune a lot though and personalize to what a customer wants such as right now I've got a couple of trucks I'm tuning to make the guys wives like the cams being in them and have them drive completely stock all the way to trans behavior with a improvement in economy and power at the same time, but yes, these are far from cut and dry calibrations. You can change an idle setting and it'll change how it drives or takes throttle all because of an idle setting. BIG PITA.....

yes ive been tuning on this one since i left the dealership back in 2017, and just finished up a complete rebuild on it due to lifter failure and now i get to do it all over again because didn't notice 2 slightly bent teeth on the crankshaft reluctor wheel...and so .considering that the tolerance for error is only .020 i know what ive got to do now lucky me.. so anyways thanks guys for your help its very much appreciated.
