checking tranny fluid on v6 autos??

I dont know if there is a way to find out the fluid level (99 Grand Am auto). I know they are "sealed" trannys but it says to have it checked bring it to the dealer, so I dont know if there is some way to actually check it but they dont tell you lol

if not I am going to just do a filter/fluid change and refill it to spec.

    Well, it's a complicated procedure.

Fill the fluid reservoir until it overflows

Obviously, I'm no mechanic. Dont' ever accept my advice!!

The engine MUST be idling in park when checking the fluid. Then if the level is low, add fluid with the engine idling until fluid starts to drip out of the plug on the pass side of the trans. Install the plug BEFORE turning the engine off.
