Extracting bin file
What tool/tools are necessary to extract a bin file? i cant find any for my vehicle anywhere. Tried posting in the diesel group with not umuch help. 2005 powerstroke. and have several friends that want tuning. so i need a way to extract bin files to create XDFs so i can have user defined parameters. Would something like the ELM327 work? any write ups specifically on extracting bin files?

You cant extract bin...you can create xdf based on address you find manually - the hard way. You can try to find Damos for your strategy but you wont find anything here

you dont need to do anything in a bin file to tune your 6.0.. hp tuners has everything you need. if you were tuning 6.4 and 6.7 then your going to need to convert a bin back to hp tuners once its modified for the things you want to modify that hptuners doesnt support.
