    Question Silverado 2005 gen 3 stage 1 tune

    Whats up guys I will drop a tuned file this is my first tune I did a stage 1 but its only a stock tune file I got from the tune repository, stock tune I grabbed was pretty high on some graphs I know I need to adjust spark advance high octane table but other than that what are ur thoughts?

    SILVERADO EQ N IDLE.hpt this is the tuned file.
    11544415958.hpt this is stock file.

    What does stage 1 mean in this case? What mods are done?

    So basically stage 1 i was thought when a car was stock or has aftermarket air filters (cold air filter/high flow filter), bigger headers or performance exhaust systems i only calibrated: IDLE-BASE SETPOINT ; GENERAL-STOICH AFR I DIVDED THAT BY MY DESIRED EQ RATIO WHICH IS 12.5 AND APPLIED THAT TO MY POWER ENRICHMENT EQ RATIO(GAS) WHICH GAVE ME 1.174 ; LOWERED THE COLD TABLE ON THROTTLE TO A 60 FOR MY TPS; POWER ENRICHMENT DELAY SET ON 5000 RPM, DELAY SET ON 0.0;
    POWER ENRICHMENT RAMP IN SET TO 4.000 ETC. THATS WHY I SHARED THE ORIGINAL FILE SO U CAN OPEN UP AS COMPARE FILE.

    By mods I meant to the car. Everyone has their own idea of "stages".

    you did a what?
    This or that term makes zero sense.

    But, your 'hpt' file is useless for us to see. You need to do a log and post that.
    We really cant tell from your editor file whats going on.
    Now you low octane table has a weird row down low.
    Your VE table looks high for a stock engine.
    Your spark looks safe

    Do a log and post that. Then we can see the timing, if its being retarded do to knock. The fuel trims, if its lean or rich..etc

    Its not an easy thing to pick up. I bet it takes 4 to 6 weeks before you start to get an idea of what does what.

    From what I can tell he isn’t really tuning a vehicle. He made changes to a stock file and wants a grade on how well he changed it for theoretical mods.

    Yes gstorey is right im just tryna be corrected the file i uploaded is a random file i got from tune repisitory to practice on ive never really tuned a car, i just want to know if im in a good path of knowing how to calibrate(tune) tables. im aware that i need logs to know about any knock or so, basicallly just need you guys to grade the calibrations i made or which table im wrong. Tats why i uploaded the stock file and the file i made calibrations on so u guys would see the differences on tables I made calibrations on.

    Log first then tune. Setup histograms in VCM scanner based on tables in your VCM editor then go drive and copy and paste depending on what you are logging. There's a lot more to that, it isn't that simple. I recommend watching Youtube videos to give you a better understanding of what needs to be done.
