    2023 Camaro 2SS Tuning

    Hey Y'all,

    I've got a 2023 2SS Camaro auto that is barebone stock. I'm looking at getting a few upgrades but I'm here mainly for the tuning part. I know pretty much nothing about tuning and I am reluctant to make the purchase because of the difficulties I may encounter. I have tried to go to a custom tuner, but the location I am in has absolutely no one that won't charge an arm and a leg. I mainly want the tune to increase throttle response and eventually to do an E85 fuel kit. There are two main things that I ask of anyone who would be willing to help.

    I was wondering if anyone has any baseline files that I could refer to and if there were any resources I could look at to help me begin my tuning journey.

    Also, with the Camaro I have is it necessary to purchase any unlocks for my vehicle or can I begin tuning the second I receive the MVI3?

    It costs a lot to tune this platform. Any tuner worth their weight is going to be costly. I would recommend to not bother tuning the car unless you add some modifications. If you want something reliable that adds some power, get a ported LT1 intake manifold or an LT2 intake manifold, a ported stock throttle body and a Rotofab intake. Then purchase HPTuners and the credits and hire a remote tuner that has experience with Gen V platforms. There are many of us on here that tune these all day.

    They quoted me $1600 just for the tune!

    a decent portion of that will be going straight to Hptuners or did they say that was on top of $1600?

    They told me I needed to provide the MVI3 and the licensing fees and the $1600 is for dyno and tune. In total, they said I can expect to pay around 2 grand.

    That is pretty extreme. You don't have the mods to require a dyno tune IMO. There are much cheaper ways to go. But you would need the MPVI3 and 4 credits to work with a remote tuner.

    I'm assuming a lot of that is Dyno Time costs, but also, tuners as a whole are raising their price.

    I got to raise my prices.

    I'm months backed up so obviously too cheap but at the same time always super conscious about not ripping people off and giving them a good value. I mean we charge a few times more than what we did when we started in 2001.. I look at our current pricing and think holy shit that is expensive but at the same time people shouldn't have to wait 3+ months to get a tune and raising the prices gets rid of the riff raff
