Quick follow up.

My tuner learned that in 19+ models, GM changed parts of the torque based tune. That and changing the idle torque parameters from automatic to manual trans numbers resolved the stalling issue.

If he's "learning" and experimenting on your car I would hope the price reflects his or her experience. If you buy your own interface you could get the exact help you need and fix it yourself, or even get a proper mail order tune (not free and you get what you pay for) from someone it here, the list of genuine tuners willing to help here is almost to good to be true.
