2006 4T65E swap into 98 GTP

I have a 98 GTP with a bad 4T65E. I can get a 2006 4T65E with the paddle shift option.
I know there are valve body differences and harness issues. Will a 98 PCM even control a 2006 4T65E. Is there a PCM that will work in either vehicle or do I just get a reprogrammed 98 PCM?
Am willing to take on mechanical and electrical mods to make this work. I am not willing to put a square peg in a round hole.

This 06 is from a GTP, not a GXP I trust? Also, you might want to check over at clubgp.com since I believe a few GT and base GTP 04-05 members have done this with their cars.
