For me my quick resolution is this:
Just install the old version right over the older version.
At this day the faulty version evolved to 2.1.1803.0 but I can just install the older version over the faulty. There is a small warning "There is just a newer version of...installed" but I can ignore it.
Disabling Windows Update for MS Store didn't work for me.
Hello 2fast4you, so I have put the older version it work I can see the video but as soon I it a botton stop or play it freeze the app and I need to close. I am running Windows 11 Pro x64. Have you the same Operating system?picture.jpg

I've had the same issue at the same time as the original post. I've swapped email with support. The general message I got was, 'Hey someone is having the same problem'. 'Not our fault, have a nice day.' Microsoft made some updates to HEVC extensions since but it still doesn't work. HPtuners should post it no longer supports GoPro files and be done with it.
