LSJ Cobalt, Can't connect to VCM

I have emailed support, but maybe someone else can help.

Let me start with I have flashed the car successfully many times.

I went to write a calibration, clicked begin. I noted the key wasn't in the
run position so I moved the key into the run position while it was connecting.
I got a can't locate VCM error and the car will not start now.

What I have tried so far:
1)I have tried a read entire, write entire all have the same can't connect to
    VCM error.
    2) I have tried to reboot my laptop, I have tried another USB port
    3) I have checked the pin 16 on the OBDII port and it has +12V
    3) I have checked the fuse for the OBDII port and it's ok.

When I connect the busy light flashes On (4 seconds off) On again.

I was able to get the car to start and run if I pull the pcm fuse and reconnect
it. I know thats not the best course of action but I had to get the car
    started.

I have a scan tool that works fine, but I can't connect with the VCMscanner either.

It looks like it's working and errors out on getting vcm info.

    Help!

I should also add then when I try to connect with VCMsuite or editor the car won't start after the attempt until I pull the pcm power.

If the power lite came on with the MPVI is hooked into the car and not the computer then Chris asked me to:

    1)Shut down all HPTuners apps
    2)Delete the VCMSuite.cfg file in c:\program files\HPtuners\VCMSuite\
    3) restart HPtuners and reenter your app key and start tuning again.

I think I hosed it up when I turned the key to run in the middle of it trying to write.

There's an issue with "old" VCMSuite.cfg files and the Cobalt LSJ. If anyone else runs into this problem that's the fix. ^^^

To be more specific, its typically the result of the last vehicle you were connected to. If that vehicle was on a CAN bus system, and you connect to the cobalt SS, you'll have the issue.

Erasing the VCM Suite.cfg forces the software to try the VPW bus first which is what the Cobalt SS likes.

In other words, GM decided to wire up too many communication bus' to the OBD-II port.
