Usb c port failure

Anybody else having issues with the usb c port loosing connectivity. Ive got multiple devices, and my most used one, is loosing the port. Its not the cable, tested multiple cables, all do the same. Its an mpvi2, so not really worth having fixed, just curious going forward how robust these will be long term.

I also got a senseless MVPI2, I guess HPTuners does it so that we buy the new one and I got screwed after buying the special functions

Not sure if it helps or hurts but i leave my usb plugged in to the device. Ive killed a couple usb cables during this time(nearly 3 years). Is that issue repairable or will it require an upgrade? Im sure a regular phone repair shop could fix that.

We do not offer a repair option, typically the upgrade path is your best bet if going from MPVI2/MPVI2+ to MPVI3.

I THINK THE BIGGEST ISSUE FOR ME IS THE PORT LOCATION, I NOTICED RIGHT AWAY THAT THE CABLE SHIPPED WITH THE DEVICE HUNG DOWN WAY TO LOW AND WOULD INTERFERE WITH MY LEGS/FEET. A LOT OF VEHICLES HAVE THE OBD PORT RIGHT ABOVE THE CLUTCH PEDAL. I IMMEDIATLEY STARTED USING A 90* CABLE, BUT STILL NOTICE MYSELF HITTING THE DEVICE. i THINK GOING FORWARD IM JUST GONNA USE A 2FT OBD2 EXTENSION CABLE AND GET IT ENTIRELY OUT OF THE WAY.

Might as well go 5 feet and get it fully out of the way. Have you seen my recent post about the obd2 power supply for wideband power?

Id definitely consult with a competent phone/computer repair store before upgrading one of the older devices.

Get one of the heavy duty right angle ones. Helps with this. Also make sure it is a data cable as some that are being sold are charging only and will not work

Thats what I said I had in the quote. I would still catch myself hitting it. obd extension is just what im gonna start using

This is my most used, of multiple devices, so I wouldnt be "loosing" anything by upgrading one
