Hey Guys,
Just had a E90 Global B ECM out of a 2023 Silverado unlocked by HP Tuners.
Fitted to vehicle and is now unresponsive and wont start (no other ECM was fitted to vehicle at all).
HPT are telling me I need to perform a Serial Data Authentication procedure using a dealer tool.
Is anyone aware if this can be done using a generic J2534 pass though and the ACDelco TDS software?

If it is the original car's ECM, send it to HPTUNERS to unlock it, and then install it directly after returning it.

Yes, that could be correct. If you had the ignition on or if the vehicle did a module health check at all it may have noticed the ECM missing from the crowd. The SDA will recheck to see whos at the party and enable functionality. I dont know how to do it other than using sps2 as I use at the dealer. Try a global reset, it may work. Have everything plugged in. Remove negative battery cable, jumper the disconnected neg cable to the positive for over 5 minutes. (newer modules have supercapacitors in them and that reserve voltage needs to be drained) After 5+ minutes hook up the neg battery and see what happens. Good luck
Whatever you do, never try to run an authentication with the power on. It will lock every module. just some advice. It will run again after all modules are installed and vehicle "goes to sleep". If not, disconnect neg battery cable and wait 30 sec, with all doors, etc closed....then reconnect. Dont open any doors or power vehicle up for 20 minutes. It should perform its tests then.
