    L83 Newbie needing some help

Hey guys, is anyone willing to jump in and help out a little bit as I'm new to HpTuners. I have my entire life of dirt circle track racing with Gbodies and we're venturing into the Micro Sprint world now, so I have a great background of performance mods and went pro dirt latemodel racing for GR Smith Racing 22*. I basically scrapped the tune it had and I'm wanting to start fresh.

I've done everything to this truck myself and when it comes to tuning I've had terrible luck. My previous tuner pretty much slapped a turd for a tune on it and It's been nothing but problems since.
Trucks a SBE l83 with cnc ported frankenstein heads, .700 Lift FED valve springs johnson 2116lsr lifters, 3/8 7.950 moly pushrods, CHE trunnions, msd coils/wires/ruthenium plugs, Long tube headers, catless y pipe, l86 intake throttlebody and S&B CAI, BTR Stage 2 Cam with VVT, Circle D Billet Stall converter (3200-3400) Billet flexplate, (pill flip on trans for now lol)
Trucks Lifted 9 inches on 37/13.50/22.

If you've got some free time to help me out, or build a tune I could put on and make it drive halfway decent for now I'd be willing to pay for the assistance!

I can send more info over if needed! Thanks so much yall!

is this a prerunner or TTU rig? Just curious - i've got a prerunner - had major major issues that Ben Charles got me sorted out on, but Ghuggins is great too. Both of their post history speaks for itself. Good luck - you'll be up and running soon...

Hey man, just researching the purchase of some Johnson link bar lifters and am researching pushrods as I am finding out that I will need some a bit longer that stock due to the short travel of the Johnson's. Did you measure and come up with this length?

I have an L83 and am getting new heads due to some issues with the machining between the common wall and this is the perfect time to upgrade. How did you come to the 7.950" measurement? My stock length 7.850" BTR are what I am currently running with the Chevy perfromance lifters in it now. They are doing good but cannot beat the Johsnsons, specifically since it has a bit more power that stock so don' t want to miss the opportunity to upgrade as I have the opprotunity while the heads are off.

FYI, it is going to be a turd with those big 'ol tires on it. Unless you do so sort of power mods or gear change, that is a lot of weight and circumfrence you are asking from your engine. That is the main reason I go trid of my 32" tires and 3" lift and lowered it 2.5" and went to a 29" tire. It's all about preference but I see a few bit tire Yukons/Tahoes in my area that look absolutley beautiful but I do like to go fast while having a bit of stability. Once these tires wear out, considering going up just a little more for more comfort.

    Stock Sucks but IT's reliable!
