    Need help with Base Tune!

    I created a base tune for my 2011 Mustang with 47lb injectors, Steeda CAI, and cats removed. I tried to drive it to data log for MAF correction and it fell on its ass under load. Can someone review my base tune and tell me what I did wrong? I am using the Cookbook to tune and I hope I am understanding it correctly. Thanks in advance for anyone input.

    Post a log. Is that MAF curve the stock one or a steeda provided curve for your intake? Which injectors are they

    I will try to get another log tomorrow, the one good one I had didn't save. The curve is multiplied by 1.38 for the intake and its ford racing 47lb injectors. The short fuel fuel trims where ranging from -5 to -8

    What injector data did you use? Did it go into limp mode when you tried to accelerate or just bogged?

    I copied this working file from here. The car accelerated but with hesitation, so yes, it's more of a bog. There is no check engine light or limp mode.

    For some reason when comparing your tune and that frpp tune some of the important stuff is greyed out. But these tables need to be changed to match too. Also the axis values are slightly different but not far off but should be matched too. Try that then see if that helps at all but id be willing to bet youre getting ipc wheel torque error from the MAF not being correct. Get a good log so we can see the fuel trims.

    I did it here. Compare it to the frpp file see what I changed

    I see now; maybe that's why I didn't change those values. I received the same greyed-out function for the compare tabs. I changed the values from the file you edited to mine. I obviously need practice on doing that if I missed the axis values. I also turned off the flex fuel option, I read that might cause issues also. I will get a log when I get home from work. Thank you for noticing that.

    No problem yeah I would do flex fuel tuning last. After you have a dialed in 93 tune with fuel trims being good

    Here is two logs, the first one is from the base maf curve and the second is from the adjusted curve from the first drive. I am using the LTFT for tuning.     You can use a math stft+ltft and do it that way. But either way will work. Doing ltft will just take longer. I personally like to do stft then when I'm close on turn on ltft and make changes via those. How is the bogging, is it still present?

    I will try the STFT and see if I can get the trims a little closer but the bogging is gone completely. I really appreciate your help.

    From your drive 1 log to drive 2 the fuel trims look 1000% better so yeah just keep doing what you're doing and it'll be all good. No worries.

    Here is the latest updates, I have another tuner helping me out with the timing. I switched my injector table and followed his instructions with the timing tables. Feels pretty good right now.

    Looks like it's on the right track. Could dial MAF in a bit more but it's pretty much there. Adjusting borderline and setting it to all the same value across the board is kind of strange especially in every single mapped point. Same with MBT, but if it works, I guess it works. It'll never hit the 23 in borderline you're commanding or 28 from MBT because of your cylinder pressure limit is capped at 21. Need to adjust that if you're wanting to see more timing...

    Yeah I am still getting the MAF dialed in a little more, that last log got it pretty close. After talking to a few people, tuning the spark this way has a little more control to see constant timing. I am still learning and will keep trying different methods to get the drivability I am looking for. I set the cylinder pressure that low to still work on the MAF and part throttle. It was a little jumpy for my taste. I still dont know what this platform likes for timing and I will slowly increase cylinder pressure limit to find what it likes.

    The knock sensors will pull timing if it gets too high. A good way to judge is to watch and see how much its adding. Then you can adjust from there. You can probably get near 25 degrees with 93 and being N/A.
