Need help I feel like I'm going backwards

    I am attempting my first tune. I have a 2000 S10 2.2L flex fuel to a LM4 5.3L swap. I have 243 heads. Gen 4 Flat top pistons/rods. Elgin E1839P cam

I know I must be doing something wrong, I keep getting lean or rich cells that don't seem to change or it changes from 1 cell to another. If i was seeing #'s that got progressively closer to "0" i wouldn't be so worried. In the VE vs LTFT there is large area's of rich and large areas of lean that don't seem to change. These are -7 or -9 and the next over is 8 in the fuel trims. I am either using the wrong graph to copy & paste to my main VE table or just plain not doing something correct.
I was told to use the VE vs LTFT of the scans. With a warmed engine idle to 3K with varying throttle up to 50% and 20 min drives to start.

I set the codes P0101, 102, 103 to fail on first error and set the the MAF hz to "0" I also was told that because I have MAF readings in the logs the MAF sensor was not disabled. I have a P0103 code that sets every time i write a new file. I was also told that it will register and read but not use that data in SD mode. Is it true that every time you write a new file the STFT & LTFT reset?

Not sure what other information is needed because I'm trying to expand my tuner knowledge, here my last tune file & last 2 logs. Any help is appreciated.

Have you ever tuned a carbed engine? The principles are the same but now you can do it with a keyboard instead of wrenches. The tough part is learning what all the tables do and what buttons to push. Take a look at your VE table and see if it makes sense to you, along with your spark table. A VE table with large peaks and valleys in it would be like you changing jets in your carb multiple step sizes while its running in very small rpm and load change areas.

As far as the PO103 goes, you can uncheck the SES box and it wont turn the light on.
I have never seen factory NBO2's behave like yours, so I'll wait for the pro's to chime in until I look much further.

That right there is some freaky shit. Yeah, I can see how using that data would lead your VE table off into fantasy land.

Is this that weird combo of some random engine, with a random tune file/OS, with a random harness, and random O2 sensors? Haven't we been over this before?

Flex fuel is enabled, is there a flex sensor? If not, turn it off. If yes, then you need to be logging alcohol %.

I sure hope that's stout 4L60, what with all the TQ management shut off like that. Even the 'master' tables on the engine side. No spark retard ever for any reason, not even on the shifts.

It almost looks like VCM scanner is loosing connection with the vehicle, all data stops on the channel list and the lines looks like they are just the logger filling in the blanks while there is no data. If you look in the "dead spots" all lines on the graph trend towards when it starts picking up data again.

Yes but it was not random like you say. I matched all the items i bought to what it started out as (2004 Trailblazer/SSR). CPW sold me the wrong tune file for the project. I lost confidence in their ability to direct me to a fix. I went out on my own to figure it out. You were a big help in figuring it out. I got the correct PCM last January and I started on that PCM again from scratch, I got to this point and the PCM died 2 weeks ago. This is the original PCM that was sold to me for my set up from CPW. It is a temporary PCM and I was using it to see how this part really works. I just don't want to drive it with all that RED! So technically the O2's are not matched to this PCM.
I build the trans myself and yes it's stout and I am not going past 50% throttle yet.

Sounds like I should give it up until I get the correct PCM again! So far that has been the way this project has gone. Fix something and then something else happens, wait months to get that done. then something else comes up to fix and have to wait again.

You have a good memory. Probably because this is so odd and I have had a lot to learn. Everything that I could have done wrong, I probably did it.

The log will look like that if he is doing standalone datalogging. Try to get a good log and we will have a look.

I will download that and take a look. Specific channels & layouts never really get discussed. Their could be 1 for idle tuning and another for everything else. I know everyone has preferences but nobody talks about or shares them & why the like this or that.

Lap top, I actually picked up an Asus 14" with windows 11 to use strictly for this use. I'm using an MPVI3 interface

Some computers that are slow will do this. close everything in the back ground.

I like to restart scanner after the computer goes to sleep. Else it might crash.
