brand new ECM, engine not cranking (LS3)

    2010 Corvette LS3.

I have a brand new ECM from Rockauto. The ECM was sold as "local programming required".

I plugged it in, connected with VCM Editor, it asked me to type a VIN - so I did.

I did a write entire, and engine is not cranking. I get the lock icon on the dash.

I found info that a VATS security procedure must be performed. (This one with 30 minutes waiting). I did it several times, but it didn work. I still get a lock icon on the dash.

What I noticed, the operating system on the ECM is: 12628990. ON other 2010 6.2 corvettes tune files I have operating system number: 12635863.

DO I have a correct OS on the VCM ? I tried to do the programming via GDS, but in GDS I can't see the 2012 MY of COrvette.

DO I need to use Tech2 to program it again, or am I doing sth wrong ? Or maybe I need to upload a different Operating system ?

Is there any data base of the operating systems to check what is what?

You need to flash it with SPS. Flashing it with an HPtuners write entire won't do it.

Software isn’t the issue. You need the correct hardware and HPT won’t do it.

SPS subscription and a J2534 device. If you don't know what any of that means, it will be easier and cheaper for you to just buy a used ECM, pre-SPSed to the VIN you provide the seller. They are all over Ebay.

Problem is that I am outside USA and Acdelco does not accept non-US credit cards.

As far as I know the programming has to come from GM/ACDelco. So that leaves trying to buy one pre-programmed on Ebay. Or seeing if there is an alternative GM site outside of the US.

Oh, my mistake for not knowing where you are. No wait, that's on you for not putting your location in your profile. Thanks for making it harder to give you a solution that works. It's super fun.

That's great but do you have the tool to program it?

Yes I use a chinese clone (VCM Nano) and have never had a problem. To be clear, I was replying to the OP that international cards (some?) do work. I am not the op.

    hi,
I have Tech2 and VCM Nano, I have Tech2WIn and GDS on my pc... so i think i have all necessary tools to do it.

I live in Europe, sorry for not specifying this detail, but I didnt know this is important.
So is there any other way to get access to acdelcotds than asking someone to purchase credits for me?

So what you're saying is, there is no way for anyone anywhere in Europe to reprogram a GM-based controller? All those cars are just 'abandonware' now after they sold off Opel/Saab/Vauxhall?

Heads up, there is a report of Techline locking accounts where a clone MDI is being used.

MDI Clones and Techline - pcmhacking.net
E67 scanner channels ECM TCM Combined

Want a cunt of a response, then write a shit post. It's a simple formula; Short preamble + problem statement + attempted resolution + pertinent build specs + tune + succinct data log with correct channels

Should be all you need to do is log in and buy a subscription. Why does that not work for you from the EU?

If you're using bootleg software or a "clone" tool that may cause issues.

If I didn't do this every day for a living I'd buy a PCM off Ebay with the VIN already programmed in. Far less hassle and not very expensive these days.

The payment for the credits/access is just being rejected at the final stage when you put the credit card details and try to pay.
It is declined and the acDelco support says they only accept American credit cards.
