    False Knock

Hey I just cammed my gen 4 5.3, Dod, VVt delete with a truck norris cam and longtube headers. Upon start up my knock sensors had a code. I believe it to be a false knock. Are you meant to desensitize Knock sensors after cam swaps? I had gotten a mail order tune and I don't know if I should get it retuned to desensitize them.

What was the knock code? I'd want to take it to a dyno/tuner and have them check with a knock sensor so you know if it's real or not.

Knock sensors don't throw codes from reading knock false or real. They throw codes when they have a fault. Bad sensor, wiring, etc. You never want to desensitize knock sensors since they are what keeps your motor from detonating to death.

two long followed by one short?

    : )

you dont need to take it to a tuner or put it on a dyno to know if knock is real or not. put some really good gas in it.

maybe post a log in the appropriate forum and ask for help?
