Would love to go with e85 but it's not within a 100-mile radius of me. Can e-85 be mixed with 93? Or do you have to go e85 completely.

I mix E85 with 87 to make E30. There are about 4 gas stations near me that have it. Result is premium octane without the $1.25 premium charge. No I don't use an ethanol sensor. Been doing it for almost 3 years.

Setting up your tune with a content sensor can be very useful. It is a bit of a hassle, but once tuned in it is nice to have the option of putting whatever amount of whichever fuel in and go. On my 2004 GTO I just like to have a good percentage of E when I flip the boost switch to high, although I have the timing table where it will run fine on 93, and up to 8 degrees extra timing advance depending on E content at full boost.

I have to say the plugs alone are a night and day difference maker. I guess the plugs were causing it to heat soak all the time. talking about e 85 I see some conversion charts floating around if I were to mix some e85 in i should be able to advance it some more. correct? I am running the walbro 255 and flex fuel 50lbs.

I'd like to install a sensor, but I have a 99. If I swap ECU's my airbags and ABS won't work. I'm really not savvy about all the ECU types, OS's, and stuff like that, so I could be wrong. If someone knows how to do it I'd definitely be interested.

Confirmed fix by replicating the conditions of KR from before? We can start bringing spark up then.

Thought E85 was 100 miles from you though?

I exaggerated a bit it's more like 50 miles there 50 back, but I would bring a container with me to store some of it. Here is the new log after the new plugs. still getting knock retard

    Which tune?

Real quick look down the throttle body and inspect for oil.

looks pretty clean to me. I don't have a pcv valve going to it. I'm venting to atmosphere. Should I clear those codes?

Yeah, but was just making sure that's what was logged. You were running SD4 for a while.

    Let's try this guy's suggestion:

Now clear the codes and use this.

cleared ltfts no knock and no dtcs. Ran really good finally got some top end. So basically, taking the burst knock all the way down but don't zero it out? looks like you moved the rpm (pe) back to stock? I've never seen the stock file for this truck.

Sorry for the thread derail, but are you talking '99 f body or truck? I'm guessing a 411 computer, but which OS?

Alright run it a while so we can be 100%. This'll really settle in the LTFT's, too. Wideband yet?

The main change was the delta airflow table for burst knock. Max KR was put back to stock, too. Use compare to see the changes if you'd like.

This is how you view the details if you're wondering. That's how I knew which file to compare against.

Got a place to stick it and leave it or are you going to put it in place of a narrowband?

Ouch. Most people p59 swap that if they are not staying stock. In will check the pcm hacking forum later.
