Next.
done. I noticed on the spark advance table it ticked down to a minus 10. in the 6k range.

That was shift torque reduction. Did it cause anything weird?
no didn't even notice it drive wise just seen it on the chart.
yea i see I lifted a little and then it ticked down.
As Sirius said, getting ready for the transmission to shift. Did the TR6 spark plug help with the timing? I ordered some based on Sirius' recommendation as well. Need to swap them in, I've been a bit lazy about it since I added an e85 sensor and have been running it, no more knock at WOT for me. What did you gap them at?

I think it runs a lot better with the cooler plug. I didn't mess with gapping the iridium's seeing as how sensitive they are. I found out the other day that I'm getting a local e85 station in December. I haven't looked it up but does the sensor just go in the fuel line and the pcm?
That's right he said to get the iridium, I bought the cheap TR6s. They sell kits that have everything. My buddy likes to make hard lines so he fabbed one up for me, he also like to make wiring harness so he did it all. Amazon'ed the parts. A GM sensor, cheap sensor plug (pin out was wrong), some compression to AN to quick connect. Cost about 100 bucks. power and ground tapped off of the coil harness with one run going to the PCM (pin 56 on blue, IIRC). I have an 2005 so my fuel system doesn't have a return. I also have a p59 with OS support for flex fuel, I configured all of the settings. If you have a 2002 p01 PCM, I think that is the right year to support a flex fuel OS, not sure how it works to convert it with HPtuners. I still need to work on my timing, it maybe past MBT with the timing added from the flex tables
This is with 39% ethanol

How do you check the number of the pcm?
edit: i found it. apparently its only on certain pcm 12216125

That’s not mine that’s just the one that works.
Getting there.
yea that's why don't mess with them. I just unpackage them and put them in.

Forgot I had your tune. It is running 12212156 with no flex fuel. I think there are two (HPtuners) ways. From the main page, under your account there are tunes you can download. You can find a 2002 flex fuel truck and download it. As I understand it they change you new credits if you change to that tune. You also have to move over all of your setting to the new file.
Another way I just ran across is that HPtuners has a bin to HPtuners, You can upload a bin file (found online) for a 2002 flex fuel truck. It asks you for your current PCM serial number and vin. It looks like the p01 stuff is free but I saw something about 1 token, which isn't a credit, no idea the cost. You'd have to copy over your settings to the new HPT file. If the PCM has the same serial number there shouldn't be any credits needed, so important to type it correctly in when convert the BIN file. When you flash them in you have to do write entire, not just the calibration.
As pointed out earlier in this thread, folks have issues with cars and wrong year vehicles flashing the flex fuel OS (based on VIN). I don't think you'll have issues since they are both trucks from the same year.

all done.
Yeah, it is a hassle. Converting the file shouldn't be too bad, assuming HPtuners process works like it is supposed to. Copying over your tune would probably be a pain for you. The editor does have a compare difference option, I believe it can move over all changes. Not sure how well it would work with different OSes. I think the 4wd stuff is mostly in BCM not the PCM. Some options in the trans section for 4low, etc.. You should be able to configure it.
