    2014 Chevrolet 4.3l to 6.0l swap

    I am new to the HP tuners forums, I did some searching but did not find anything


    I have a 2014 Silverado with a 4.3l and I am looking to swap with a 6.0l
    before I go down a rabbit hole and spend a ton of unnecessary money can someone help or guide me in the journey please


    as far as the physical swap I can handle that, but as far as the ECM, TCM, and BCM I need some guidance
    is there a certain year range the donor needs to be so the EMC will work in my 2014? if I keep my 6l-80 (will be rebuild to hold more power) and TCM will that work or will that be a huge pain?

    I have a couple of options for the lQ9 already available I am not sure what ECM to get for it or if it will even work since my truck is technically the LT year range

    I reached out to a tuner and he said "dont"
    because the truck is a Gen V I would have to stick to an LT donor in the 14-16 year range.... kinda sucks because it limits what donors I can use but at the same time my dream of putting a 6.2 is more realistic

    Yeah, he is right. You don't want to go backwards because it's way more work and way more things will not function if you put a GEN 4 engine in that truck.

    Using a 5.3 or 6.2 LT engine is pretty much your only options. I'd use the V8 computer and flash it with a VIN that can be used to match the PCM and TCM. You can't use your VIN because it's a 4.3 VIN. A GM tool has to be used for that so everything functions correctly.
    2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

    If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

    Dumb question,
    so I would use the donors ECM, PCM, and TCM and just put the vin of the donor truck in them? wouldn't that make the BCM need to be on the same vin? I would have to get them unlocked also correct?

    I'd need to look again but I forget if the 4.3 runs the same E92 computer that the V8's, it might be different.

    To make it easy in my opinion, using the donor V8 computer would be ideal. Then you could have someone with a GM tool flash the PCM/TCM to the same VIN and those two would work together. I don't know why they'd have the BCM any different than the V8 trucks, all of the interior stuff is usually the same on all trucks but I could be wrong.
