6l80 experts.. have some issues..

I have been reading through the forums and seen alot of post you guys have been able to help some guys out with their trans shift issues.. ive been messing with mine for quite some time and still cant figure out what some of the tables adjust at different points in the shift process.. and different temps.

i have a 2009 silverado with a 6.0L with LSA supercharger 10lbs of boost, ls9 cam, IDX1050 inj, walbro 540 pump, flex fuel sensor, 1 3/4 LT headers w/o cats, 6L80 transmission with a transgo TOW&PRO Reprogramming Kit and sonnax valve body kit, ZL1 camaro converter. 3.42 rear gears.

But the issue im having is, on low speed turning onto neiborhood streets and such 12-15 miles per hours the truck feels like it wants to die... looks like timing drops out -17, -19 degrees on that 1-2 shift.. the next issue i have is the 2-3 shift at WOT shifts so hard that it feels like the transmission is coming throught the floor.. id love a firm quick shift at wot without breaking the tires loose or breaking the transmission..lol. just want more seamless if it possible.

if i increase the torque model everything gets worse, starts breaking tires loose at PT shifts and i cant go WOT for fear of breaking everything..

in the current tune.. it feels like the PT and WOT shifts, feel like double shift/delayed or a bad transmission mount.. "all mounts are new" and double checked..

but no matter what i try it affects the part throttle shifts as well.. to hard or too soft. i cant seem to find the in between id like.

Was hoping for some help.. ive found a post where (hjtrbo) mention that

1.torque management torque Factor adder changes the feel of the shift
2. Torque adder changes the time of the shift.
3. Inertia factor changes feel like fine tuning..

The 2-3 and 3-4 shift at half throttle and wot shift kinda feels like a soft or broken transmission mount.. its new and verified not broken... so would I need to speed up the shift? Add some torque management to it..
Just want it quick and seemless.. not shift kinda fall on it's face Jerky feeling.

Or can somebody give me a better description of what channels/cells I need to play with to achieve the results I'm looking for

First thing first you have to tell me precisely which components from Sonnax you added in there, just about nothing is compatible with our TOW&PRO kit, so I need to sort that out first to see if you have to go back in there or not.

Once we have that done, I suggest you get the transmission side of your tune back to stock and only make the changes to the torque adder sections like we recommend in the video from the QR code in the kit instructions. It is probably going to be all it will need, but if not, with help of others on here that know more about tuning then me you can tweak it from there and fine tune it. Our kit takes over a lot of control ability from the computer, so many changes that normally would make it work better if it was stock, will not work at all with our kit in there or created unexpected result.

Lastly, next time you take a log, use this channel config file: 6L80.Channels.xml so that it loads all the parameters we need. Your log has almost none of the transmission parameters in it. so it is not giving us much of any useful information about the transmsision operation and command.

here is a copy of the current tune.. the 1-2, 3-4 shifts are really nice overall... its the 2-3 shift that is giving me all the issues.. it just shifts so hard PT, heavy throttle and WOT.

Unfortunately without knowing what is in the transmsision I can't help. The high rev spring in the pump is ok, but just about everything from the Zip Kit does not work with our TOW&PRO kit. I can see in the log the 2-3 issue you are talking about, it has some very odd line pressure command, I am assuming that's from you trying to go around the problem and soften the shifts. But even if the tune was back to normal or the way we recommend it, I doubt it will shift right or that I could tell what is wrong without knowing what precisely was done in the transmission.

At that point it could be how the clutch clearances were setup, or what other parts were installed/left out(waveplates). Honestly I would copy all the tq coefficients, both APC and MAP tables, from an LS9, if there is a stock file available. It is hackish, but your build is pretty close to an LS9/LSA. I'd also put all of the other trans settings back to stock, for now. You can always fine tune per gear/load later.

If you do that, remember to reset adapts and relearn.

Also, make sure your MAF and VVE are dialed in. TQ Model references the Airflow model. Trans references both.

i definitely appreciate the help and InSite.. guess its something i will have to deal with it being my only vehicle thats running at the moment.. just hate when you pay for a service and dont know what you get.. i have the receipt but its not broken down as to the work done.. just says high rev spring and rebuild with new clutchs and pistons. SMH

Usually that's supposed to be handled under warranty but when the place goes out of business then it screws thing up majorly. I would try to find a shop that is will and capable to figure it out, if they need help they can email me at [email protected] or call product support at 626-443-7451 and we can help them figure out what kit is in it and all that stuff. If you keep on driving it like that you will need to have it rebuilt again sooner then later. Those units don't handle shock shifts (it's actually a bind) very well, something will break.
