    1996 Lincoln Theft Deterrent

I'm swapping a 4.6 2v and 4R70w from a 1996 Town Car into a 1959 Ford Wagon. I'm wanted to delete the theft deterrent from the EEC. It says EEC V on the module. According to what I'm reading, PATS didn't start appearing in the Town Cars until 1998 so I'm trying to figure out what system it has. There was a module inside the drivers door that hooked to the key switch on the door lock plus it had the touchpad entry.

Anyone have any info on this system?

If you have the tuner you should just be able to disable the pats in the system settings under general and under the PATS switch if it did have anti theft. Hopefully I got your question right. image.png

No support for Lincoln that far back. Or Ford for that matter. O.P probably needs to find the service manual for the donor.

The 1996 Town Car doesn’t have PATS, so you’re right in thinking it started later in 1998. What you’re likely dealing with is the older Keyless Entry system that uses a module connected to the keypad and door lock. It’s more about locking and unlocking the car rather than engine immobilization. Since it’s not PATS, you don’t need to worry about disabling any theft deterrent in the ECU for your swap. You should be good to go as long as the keyless module isn’t tied to starting the car, which it usually isn’t in that model year.
