Y'all might be able to point me in the right direction...

I have a buddy with a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland equipped with the eLSD that apparently reliably fails on these cars. He's run down a laundry list of diagnoses and replacement parts that has pointed him to worn out clutch packs in the rear end. Reportedly it's a $1200 replacement that he's not looking to spend, and he's wondering if it's possible to disable the eLSD from engaging in the HP Tuners software. Sounds like this fault throws a CEL (codes C148F, C1451, C1490, C2220) when the vehicle tries to engage the LSD. I downloaded the tune and couldn't find anything readily apparent to prevent the locker from engaging but figured I'd check this forum to confirm before telling him that that is the case. Has anyone done this for these vehicles?
