What to look for in a scan?

I'm a total noob to tuning.I have 99 TA that have installed headers,cam,heads,pulley,ls6 intake on.I've recorded a couple of scans and wanted to know what trouble areas to look for so I don't hurt my engine. The tune in it now is tolerable. But I know it isn't correct.

Well, it's significantly lean virtually everywhere 13-16% in Scan 2 but in the March 30-07 it looks (STFT wise) Rich.

Scan 2 was a longer drive.the march 30-07 scan was just a trip around the block. How can you tell when it's lean?

    LTFT's that are + are lean, - LTFT's mean it's richer.

usually a simple copy & paste will work as long as you've filtered out bad info or cells.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

MUCH better near idle but everywhere around it is still lean.

You are at that decision point. However without a wideband you have no idea how rich/lean things are at WOT. It may be rich for all we know. If it's rich, then you have enough injector (for now ).

I'm guessing it's lean at high rpm because according to the scan It goes lean and the injector duty cycle is maxed at high rpm.Can I richen up the fuel trim cells? Will that help?If Iever get a wide band do I need 2,1 for each side? What would you do?

I wouldn't assume it's rich or lean. Stock narrowband sensors are highly *un-reliable*.
I have seen 11.5 with the wideband and NB's were 820mv
I have also seen 13.5 with the wideband and NB's were 960mv

Now which are you going to believe?

This is just the sensor can you get by with wiring the sensor direct to HPT or do you need to get the display unit also?

you need the sensor and controller...some of the lower priced units have just these two things without the display. But work very well with hpt.
