what is the procedure to identify the current software version to then redo the tune file. The ecu was unlocked and tuned via Hp tuners, with my mvi3 having the license. The vehilce had communication issues with other controllers the owner says.

If software has changed, how do I get hold of the correct file, seeing it cant be read directly from the ecu? Does this then have to be re-licensed to modify and write?
OS 12709842 should be what is installed. This is the latest OS and has been for some time now. What is the OS that VCM Editor is reporting?
On my new scan tool, it shows the same as your software number. On the hpt info it shows the picture.
You are looking at the flash file you wrote the the ECM. It has been update to the SOTF OS provided by HPT. Your original OS is 12709842. Once you apply the SOTF patch, it changes to 69709842.
what controllers are you losing communication with ?, i had this issue on a 2020. the stock file would restore communication but then editing the read would make it lose communication had to go about a different way on doing some of the editing. worked fine then .
It was having abs, traction control issues on long drives.
