    Throttle body orientation

    Hi!

    Upgrading my already LS swapped 1992 camaro from LM7 / 4L60E to LQ4 / 4L80E. Since lm7 was DBC, I was able to keep the truck intake and had just enough clearance to close the hood. Now LQ4 has a DBW, the TB itself is little higher and cant close hood anymore. Thinking about making a spacer/adapter to turn TB 180deg, upside down. Would be there any issues in engine performance? I have seen some pics procharged Ls engines, with TB-s upside down...
    I know the right way to go would be ls1 intake and re-routing cooling and front accessories, but since i have all perfect set-up from LM7, then I would like to keep it. And also here in Europe it is not so easy to find LS engine parts, so its also all about budget

    Thanks

    Why not just use the cable TB on the LQ4? You can make the LQ4/4L80 work with the LM7 cable TB PCM/OS with segment swaps and tuning. Then you wouldn't have to change the pedal and add the TAC module too.

    Shouldn't be a problem.. Fairly certain some old magnacharger kits had you turn the throttle body upside down too.

    Can't find it right now but have a friend who was Chip Foose's main tech. He actually made a traditional style looking "carb" intake with a DBW on top. Put a regular air filter. Looked like it was carb'd.

    Here is a DeLorean I just did and it has a 180 to the throttle body. Works great. Air is much easier to deal with than air/fuel combo because fuel will crash into a wall and puddle. Air doesn't. Much more "bendy".

    @2xLS1:
    Promised to sell the full lm7/4L60e DBC turn-key kit to next caprice guy. LQ4 is also full drop-out kit from 2007 Savana, so why not to use it in a stock setup
