    Lightbulb A look over a 5.7 tuning

Adjusting a few things on a friends 2013 rwd 5,7 charger, he added a "no tune required non mds cam" from mmx and a requested me to tune the mds system out of it and try to smooth things up a little. Ive adjusted a smoothed the timing tables and throttle sensitivity. I know itll probably be far from perfect. Can someone give it a look over and maybe adjust things if needed. He texted me today saying its got a misfire and hears it popping through the intake. I told him to double check his rocker arms and and push rods considering he had all that apart. Its either that or ive got he timing all kinds of messed up. I appreciate any help. Ill attach the stock file and adjusted file then later attach a log.Derrick's 5.7 charger 2013 stock read file non mds cam.hptDerrick's 5.7 charger 2013 stock read file non mds cam v1.hpt

I am definitely not the person to advise you on your friend's tune, but I am curious .. why did you make the minimum spark table values so high? The values you have in the min spark and torque reduction min spark seem higher than your part throttle and WOT spark tables.

Wouldn't this cause your commanded spark to always run at the value defined in the min table? And during torque reduction, does it cause it to advance even more?

Precisely why I came here. Probably something I overlooked or compared to a file I had on a separate car. I?ll set that back to stock and see what change it makes. Thanks for catching that.

"no tune required" and its popping thru the intake = something is wrong mechanically

no one wants to centerline the cam or check tolerances these days

"stap it together and send it"

    yeah ok

*pushrod length is critical - even if you reused the same lifters... nothing wrong with relying on the grinder to put the heal where it needs to be but check his work. did anyone compare the base circle diameters with a micrometer???

I have zero idea of what all went into this rebuild. I know the engine was overheated at some point so heads have been to a machine shop along with cam and the full valve train. All I know is that and he asked for the mds to be turned off along with maybe a little bump. As for now I?ve returned the tune to stock with the exception of mds being disabled. Told him to drive it for a while to make sure the car is mechanically sound before we adjust anything else.
I suspected a mechanical issue which is why I just returned to stock so I don?t get the blame if something goes south.
