    Talking 408 Durango Tune

Hey all, I'm looking for some advice for a tune for a build I'm going to be putting together in a few, It's a 408 Stroker for a 2001 Dodge Durango R/T. The build consists of stock block, scat forged rotating assembly with Racetec pistons, Comp 20-746-9 cam, Edelbrock performer heads, Cometic .027" MLS Headgaskets, the UTAwesome 108mm throttle body, and (bear with me I know they're probably too big lol, the purchase was made with future boost in mind) FIC Flow max 1000CC injectors, I've already made a tune I'll be putting below I've made based on percentages of difference in Injector sizes and found out the new injectors at max flow for cfm at 6500RPM were about 66% bigger so I took my whole fuel table and did x.33, I have a strong feeling it's going to be rich as all hell and that's kind of what I'm hoping for lol. I'd rather it be rich than lean for breaking it in and I can likely Dial it back from there with a wideband to the point where it's somewhat reasonable, I'm brand new to tuning so feel free to leave me any tips that can help me out with better setting up tunes in the future, I've left timing alone because I didn't really want to change anything with timing until I've got the engine properly broken in and i'm a little more familiar with JTEC works, please let me know if there's anything i've done severely wrong and how to not do that lol. Thanks! -DF408 Durango Base Tune.hpt

i seen ya changed a bunch of axis in the tune

dunno if you changed Y axis in 13482 or what is going on but the axis is not scaled correctly (see pic)

pic (b) is my one and only JTEC

    mine makes sense

yours is prolly a hpt glitch as it does not

what version of the suite did you read the truck with???

I see, I did read that tune with an older version about a year ago when I first got the truck around February of last year so that could definitely have some bearing on things. I do remember doing some screwing around with the x and y axis in the base fuel map tune now that I think about it because fuel only showed to 4800RPM if I recall, and I wanted to run it up to about 6500RPM so did some messing around with that, although I've heard from a few sources that it's best to just leave the map as is without touching axises as it'll be fine anyway but was unsure. Would I have the right idea regarding those graphs and their axises or is there a better way to go through with adding parameters to those?

that depends on what you are trying to accomplish

if i am changing a axis, i am changing it to make the pcm do something differently than it is currently doing

there are macros. changing something over here often inadvertently changes something over there.

    its all trial and error

how close are you to getting it running?

I had a feeling it'd be more of a trial and error dance type deal, that does make sense, just a little worried about getting it to at least start and idle reasonably enough to dial a tune in further with how drastically different it is from stock everything.
As for being close to running I'd say not very, I've still actually got to throw the engine itself together while I wait to finish something else I've got going on to clear out the driveway again lol, from there I'm also still waiting on Headers from Spintech and on top of that I've still got to build up a fuel cell and run exhaust, which isn't anything too crazy but it's all gotta happen. So in short not much, I'm not realistically in a position to worry about the tune just yet just got bored and started messing around on the VCM editor trying to at least get a feel for how everything works on here and see if I'm even moving in the right direction lol
