2019 Ram PCM with 2014 5.7L Calibration Possible??

Hi. I was wondering if anyone here knows if it is possible to install a 5.7 calibration with transmission calibration too onto a 2019 and up PCM. 2019 and up have the 8 speed with the TCM inside the transmission. Im looking to run the RFE transmission from the 2019 PCM like it did in the 2014 PCM.

2019 RAM PCM has the 8-speed TCM integrated into the transmission unit itself, unlike the 2014, where the TCM was separate. This integration means that using a 2014 calibration on a 2019 PCM (especially to control an RFE transmission) could lead to issues with communication errors or outright failure to operate correctly.
Look for brands like PCS (Powertrain Control Solutions), US Shift, or MegaSquirt, which offer controllers that support RAM transmissions, including the RFE series. These units are programmable and allow you to configure shift points, line pressures, and torque converter lockup, making them ideal for performance and customized setups.

TCM was controlled by the PCM in the 4th gen Ram. 8 speed in the 5th gen is in the transmission like you said. Where would the communication problems happen if I don't have and 8 speed?

late 2013 and into 2014 is when the 8hp series was introduced into the rams. There was a period of time where the PCM in the 2013/2014 trucks had two variants of the PCM which one was programmed to run the 8 speed and had a specific harness, and the same for the 6 speed programming needing its own harness.

I believe this was also possible through 2019 as you state. So you are looking to run a 2019 truck with a PCM programmed to run a 65RFE. My assumption is that you would need to program the PCM, and I believe the BCM to match for the 6 speed calibrations, and you will need to swap out the transmission harness as well.

The only source I know who can reprogram these modules appropriately is SGA (Sound german automotive).

it wont work as the new 19 PCM does not have the controller for the TCM built in. not to mention the calibration will not even load into it.

What im looking to do is run a 2014 5.7 with a 66RFE in a 2019 truck. Is there any PCM that would work with the 2019 RFHub and BCM? Is the hardware not there on the 19 and up PCMs to run the trans?

why would you want to do that? the 8 speed is a far superior transmission, you can run the 14 motor but you are out of luck on the trans

Not saying you're wrong, but I find it hard to believe that there isn't a certain PCM that can do it. Anyway, I dont have an 8 speed. I doing something custom with a 2014 truck that uses the modules from a 2019.
