    LFX engine swap

    Not sure where to post this as new to the forum. Doing an LFX 3.6 v6 swap into my 88 Range Rover, I have the full engine, loom and ECU from a wreck
    I understand it is possible to use the factory with a bit of tinkering, after some guidance as where i need to start looking. Have a Manual engine/gearbox
    so no TCU to worry about, but i believe the ECU will be looking for the BCU (IE the CAR), first thoughts were, emulating the car would be one option.
    Any ideas are welcome

    For the most parts when people do LS/LT or even LFX swaps usually, you don't need the BCM at all. The LFX swap is somewhat popular into Miata's now.

    You really just need to disable the anti theft system and lots of background codes for stuff that isn't there anymore. I think in your situation it would be ideal that the wrecked vehicle you got all the parts from was already a manual. Because trying to do this with a automatic calibration file can be a pain in the ass.

    And don't forget that you need the pedal assembly from that wrecked car or you'll have to buy one that matches the calibration file and stuff so that it jives.

    Perhaps a few LFX guys will see this thread and help better.

    Yes it took a little while to find the manual car, and i have all the extra bits including accelerator, air box etc, so it seems like it wont be too hard with the correct software
