    LFX First Steps

So doing the popular LFX into an older car so no can bus or anything to intergrate into, so any advise tips tricks etc would be helpful

I already have the LFX with manual gearbox, ECU ,loom and accelerator pedal, I understand I can use the factory ECU, by disabling anything extra I dont need
like ABS. So question is, what is the best way to interface with the ECU, I would like to have access to the obd2 info after the install is done for a digital dashboard
so is there an adaptor i can buy or do i need to patch into the loom to get to the CANBUS to do the flash, and the best software to use

I get this is probably asked a LOT so sorry for that

Not sure if you grabbed the fuse box from the vehicle you got the engine from but I'd suggest that. What year LFX and what is the ECU out of? The ECU will play a big part in what you'll need to do in order to get the engine to run right with the manual. E39's have a drop down to toggle auto/manual so you'll just have to make sure it's got an appropriator speed input to the ecu.

Otherwise you should be able to disable vats and it should be pretty straightforward from there.

Go to a JY and grab an OBD2 port from any vehicle and then mount it in your car, connect the CAN and power wires accordingly and that's what you'll use to interface with HPT and any CAN gauges you'd like.
