Question engine suddenly shuts down @5000 rpm

Hello everyone, I have the following problem.
I have adapted the LS1 control unit to an old engine with a manual gearbox. The engine runs and you can also drive.
But now I have the problem that under full load at approx. 5000 rpm the engine suddenly shuts down. What I have not installed is the VSS and the clutch switch and I think that the engine only runs in the idle table. Which sensor or which signal is responsible for this? Is the reason for this the missing clutch switch or the VSS?

Any and all help would be welcome. Thank you

Along with all that, also give us your definition of "shuts down". Dies completely and has to be restarted? Hangs at 5K and stops pulling? What?

I just love these drive-by threads. So much of the time it's someone forum shopping where they copy/paste the same question into all the automotive forums they can find, and then choose to go with the one where the members ask the fewest pesky questions and offer up the most meaningless wild-assed guesses and abandon all the others.

Are you using the MAF and TPS?
5k RPM sounds like full MAF threshold for cars, trucks it tends to be 4K RPM.
A half assed attempt at disabling MAF is, pretty bad.
No TPS can keep you in idle spark tables.

If you want to make guesses on threads, can you at least do it on current ones?

What does "full MAF threshold" mean? Or does it not matter that the PCM uses blended mode (MAF + SD) below the Dynamic Disable RPM, and 'MAF only' above that (falling back to VE for transients)? It sounds like the universe you live in, it works the opposite of that. Please explain.
