Judging by the logs the only part of the pid control active during the issue would be ltit. Its not like im having issues stationary when the pid control is actually making adjustments.

Just try a stock tune with your VE, MAF, Timing, and post the log. Again it is probably fueling along with all the other things amplifying/covering that. You WILL need to adjust idle airflow params, but only when base cal is spot on. Your base cal is off. that is it.

I found some more time to play with this truck. The issue is related to the power steering. I am thinking less tune related and more just old worn out parts. My theory is a worn out gearbox straining the pump or something of that nature.

    Reserve torque....

I mentioned long ago idle timing was too high not allowing for a dip/extra load.

Those under/overspeed spark tables do not function when rolling on this.

Yeah Alvin has no idea how this system works.

Most of the time when someone cannot figure out how to tune something correctly they blame it on parts.

Ah.. getting closer.. which idle spark tables still work while rolling? Hint hint..

I thought it was a no no to ramp the lower rpm columns up on the idle and main spark? I have tried that and it sometimes does not react fast enough either.

Alvin was saying put idle spark at ~18 degrees so that when underspeed makes corrections the degree amount has more torque magnitude. 18 corrected to 23 is more tq differential than 25 to 30.

Also, in the file I configured as suggestion points, I commanded the idle spark tables to happen while rolling by using the mph threshold in addition to tps. IIRC yours was 250mph, making tps the only threshold for idle/base. 4mph or so should do.

Whoever has recommend spark changes to fix the issue has been correct. It took a combination of airflow to prevent the surge and also spark to quickly correct any dips in idle. I can force it to surge but driving normally ive not had any issues and 0 stalls. I will probably make another edit to the idle spark-drive table to get a smoother transition coming down from a rev.

With the idle spark at 21-22* it has plenty of torque reserve to bump up to ~32* and quickly correct any dips.
