    OP I think you would be better off using an e67 or e38 ECM and hooking the high speed data lines up between the ECM and TCM. Now I don?t know if the service numbers would be compatible or if the TCM is even supported by hpt. Maybe there is some behind the scenes code that could be modified with other software to make that work. You would also need to change your crank and cam reluctor to 58x and 4x.

    As for why you can?t run port injectors with a DI ECM, the DI injector voltage is ramped up far above the 14V that you were thinking. When others say it will most likely burn up the injectors, that?s why. I can?t remember the exact voltage but I think it?s around 50V.
