    New Turbo Owner needs help

Hello, been lurking for years and did some tunes with bolt on cars that have worked out great thanks to this wonderful forum. I will preface this by saying that the wideband o2 is dead on the uego mounted in this car. I already have one on order. I also have not datalogged the car yet, and will verify the injectors this week when im off work.

I bought a 3rd owner since built trans am. I know it has a 5.3 with some cam, not a huge one, huron speed kit with 78/75 billet vsracing, i can see racetronix fuel rails and regulator, supposed to have walbro 525 and SEP 1000CC , m6. the story is it was built in arizona and originally tuned by all out . I have never owned a forced induction car before

    1. I was looking at the tune and noticed that the engine data is setup for a 5.7, and is running sd 3bar os. I have posted the tune below. I would appreciate if someone could look at it and see if its even in the ballpark of being correct. I will not be driving the car unit i get the wideband working and can see what its doing atleast. The only issue i have noticed in around the block driving is when clutched it high idles at 1800rpm for about 20 seconds before returning to idle.

    2. every ses light on the dash is on, im not sure if that is normal with sd tunes or if they have some of the engine diag. stuff wrong

    3. speaking of the diagnostic tab, i noticed some codes for egr and secondary air and such were still reporting mil and im not sure what should be on/off.

    4. it looks like the rpm limit fuel cutoff is 6800 and reenable 6799, i was under the impression we never wanted to cut fuel on boosted applications but kill spark, but i do not see how to do that

Thanks ahead of time for any help, it has been together a few years and the previous owners were not easy on it so i dont think its far off. If its completely screwed tune wise I would take any recommendations in the middle tn/ga/ky area

Just doing a quick run through here.

Change cylinder volume to match the 5.3.

That MAP sensor will not work right, looks to be a diesel MAP with those settings. Get a real 2 or 3 BAR map depending on how much boost you are running. Several MAP's that are known to work are out there.

Set the 3 MAF dtc's to MIL on first error. If other parts are not being used like the EGR, air injection etc etc, set all those codes to no error reported with the SES box unchecked.

Verify the injector data. And those idle settings looked pretty jacked. The idle rpm is really high and the idle airflow is pretty darn high too. The idle timing for most cams will want 18-20 degrees of timing and lower the over/underspeed spark correction tables to like -10 and +10. That way it won't swing the timing a ton.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

Injector data isn't setup right. P0101-P0103 should be MIL on First Error. Cylinder volume is wrong like you mentioned. Double check map linear and offset. Probably will need retuned when everything is setup right.

Thank you guys for the quick responses. I will fix the wideband first and then find a tuner to work with. Is it bad enough to trailer it instead of driving to the shop?

Wouldn't truly know without seeing a log if it's OK to drive.

Is there a adjustable fuel psi regulator that is MAP referenced? Fuel system is not set up for 1000 cc injectors.

Closed loop is enabled yet set to not be reachable during normal operation, WTF? Then the open loop eq ratio is a disaster.

It's likely your throttle cracker is causing your hanging idle issue assuming the throttle plate is functioning properly. Airflow decay delay is set for 64 seconds.

I?ll be off work Tuesday and grab a new map, I have an updated tune with the above recommendations and correct injector data added. I will have a chance to flash and log it. it has an racetronix fpr that is boost referenced, how can I check for correct operation of throttle plates? It?s cable driven so I assume as long as they open and close with the pedal ? Thank you again

If you'd like I can go through it with you. Pass a few tunes and logs back and forth. At least get it safe to drive.

There are a few SEP 1000cc class listed for GM applications. Go to their website and find the one that matches yours.

There is so much wrong with that tune I'd start completely over.

As long as it's not black smoke rich or spark knocking it should be "safe" to drive easy to your tuner.

I've prepared everything other than injector data. The data is available, but need to know which type. He's getting a new MAP, too.

I can’t upload a photo from my phone for some reason, but there are no spacers that I can see and it’s the ls1 style plug. They look like the “long” style ls1 and say sep 1000cc . I can measure them Friday and know for sure if it’s the long, medium or short injector. I ordered the gm 55567257 map sensor and one of the adapter harnesses from the old style to new style plug. I will be pulling the intake manifold to swap the map over Friday and can measure the injector length then.

That's fine I know which ones from your description. Here it is for the current setup. When you get the MAP installed change Airflow>General>MAP Linear and Offset to 312.5 and -11.25kPa.

It'll still need tuned, but should be closer. Stay out of boost. Post a log you want.
